You have been cleaning houses, fixing cars, baking cakes, or cutting hair for years. People trust your work. They keep coming back. They tell their friends. What you don't have is the legal structure, the pricing math, the brand, or the infrastructure that turns what you already do into a business a stranger can find, trust, and pay for.
Tell Us About Your IdeaThe nurse who manages a 12-patient ward is running operations management. The mechanic who diagnoses a failing transmission is doing root cause analysis. The cleaner who keeps six clients happy for three years straight has built a referral engine without knowing the term. You already have the skills. You've never had someone name them in a business context.
"I'm good at what I do, but I have no idea how to make it a real business. Who am I to charge for this? I don't know where to start with the LLC, the taxes, the insurance. And I'm exhausted after every shift."
The legal paperwork is simpler than you think. The pricing math is solvable in one session. The brand is what you already are, made visible. You're not missing the skill. You're missing the system.
Not a cheerleader. Not a motivational speech. Not "just start." You need a blueprint, a weekly assignment, a deadline, and someone who speaks your language. Then you need to do the work.
You fill out five questions. I read them within 48 hours. Before you pay a dollar or sit down for a call, I build personalized research about your business. Pricing math. Market data. Action items. Yours to keep whether you enroll or not.
Most consulting sells you on the idea that they have the answers and you need them. FORDEV starts from the opposite position: you already know how to do the work. What you need is the framework that makes your expertise visible, verifiable, and operational. That's a different relationship.
A defect that passes through a quality gate costs exponentially more to fix downstream. This isn't a metaphor. This is how a production line works. And it's how your business gets built.
Build the foundation. Block your schedule. Form the LLC. Get your EIN. Open the bank account. Set up your tax savings. Build the pricing model with real analysis. Package what you sell into tiers. Nothing faces the public. Everything built here is internal infrastructure.
18-Point Quality Gate →Build the launchpad. Talk to real customers. Validate demand with real conversations. Build a brand a stranger can trust. Set up website, payment processing, and Google Business Profile with transparent pricing. Get your first reviews. Deploy the marketing engine.
19-Point Quality Gate →Run the business. Marketing systems running. Revenue tracked weekly. Decisions driven by data. Monthly check-ins for a full year. You're in the driver's seat. The sprint built the system. Now the system runs.
No Exit Gate. You Own It.LLC formed. EIN obtained. Insurance applied. Contracts drafted. Your business exists legally before it exists publicly.
Pricing built from market data. Break-even calculated. Sustainability Number defined: the monthly revenue where the business is worth running.
Name cleared and protected. Website live with transparent pricing. Google Business Profile optimized. You look like what you are.
Review system running. Photos documenting every job. Positioned where your customers already look. Your expertise made visible through work.
You quote prices without flinching. You follow up systematically. You close because you're confident in what you built.
Weekly operating cadence designed for someone working a full-time job. 2-4 hours per week. Sustainable. Repeatable. Yours.
Before your Discovery Call, I build a Preliminary Insights document that's personalized for you. It's based on what you shared and what I found. This is not a teaser. It is real intelligence about your business. If you enroll, it becomes the foundation of your sprint plan. If you don't, you walk away with more actionable information than most people get from a $500 consultation. For free.
The most obvious thing that nobody teaches is transparency and true humility. Instead of cosplaying an expert who has all the solutions, show the client that they are the expert and you are merely the guide who can teach them the framework that validates their expertise and exposes them as the hero they never knew they were.
Al Gibson, Founder
I started at U.S. Steel Gary Works in 1996 as a hot metal test sampler.
Over the years, I worked a lot of positions: ladle utilityman, casthouse helper, gas washer, skimmer operator, QBOP furnace operator, and then Melter Supervisor. I moved around a lot, not because I was aimless, but because I was quickly picking up everything the plant was teaching me. And I've always been open to learning. Still am.
By the time I left in 2023, I was a Senior Shift Manager running two shifts in the QBOP, leading a 72-person crew converting iron into 13,500 tons of liquid steel a day. Over 100 grades. Customer specs down to the molecule. EPA compliance, ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001. But my most proud accomplishment was the year my team achieved a .048 recordable injury rate against a 1.13 goal.
I didn't learn business from a textbook. I learned it from a charge floor where a mistake costs millions of dollars and can kill someone.
I learned root cause analysis by investigating furnace failures, not in a conference room. I learned quality gates by watching defects compound downstream when somebody tried to "save time" upstream. I learned workforce planning by scheduling union crews across rotating shifts for 17 years and still getting production out the door. Every system FORDEV uses was built on that foundation.
In 2023, I made a decision that scared me. After 27 years of swing shifts in Northwest Indiana, I retired from U.S. Steel, married my wife Jessica, and moved to Minnesota. I'd spent my whole career building systems for someone else's operation. It was time to build one for myself. And for people like me.
Now I need to tell you about my son.
Devyn was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2020 and received a heart transplant in 2022. He passed away in January 2025 from complications of sudden heart failure. He was the kind of person who would give you what he had, even when he didn't have much. His spirit is the reason FORDEV exists. The "DEV" in FORDEV is for him.
And I'm not saying the next part for sympathy. Let me be clear about that.
I have the same genetic heart condition that Devyn had. I've had two heart attacks. The first was a widowmaker in October 2023. My left anterior descending artery was 99% blocked. The survival rate outside a hospital is 10%. I should not have survived either one. But I'm still here, and both of them gave me something I didn't have before: clarity. I don't take a single day for granted. And I won't waste your time. Every system we create, every framework, every assignment in the 90-Day Sprint exists because I refuse to fill your time with bs when neither of us have time to be wasting time.
Here's what I believe.
You're already the expert. You've always been the expert. Whether you're the nurse who's running a 12-patient ward, the mechanic diagnosing a transmission, or the cleaner who's kept six clients for three years. You don't need someone to teach you how to work. You need someone who speaks your language, who's stood on the same kind of floor you stand on, and who can hand you the system that makes your expertise visible.
I'm not going to stand here and pretend I have it all figured out. I face the same self-doubt you do. The difference is I decided to build anyway, and now we're building this together.
That's what I built. That's what FORDEV is.
Full refund available before the first session. When both beta spots are filled, enrollment closes and the price moves to $499. After that tier validates, it moves to $2,500. Same system. Same commitment. The only thing that changes is the number.
I need five things from you. Your name, your email, your idea in one sentence, what's driving you, and why now. No résumé, no pitch deck, and no application.
That's it. Because those five answers tell me more about where you are than any application ever could.
Two spots remaining at $49. Once they're claimed, the beta is closed. I read every response personally, and you'll hear back within 48 hours. Ready to build?
